Three Rivers Arts Festival - Bonacossa, guitar and Cassandra Eisenreich, flute

06.03.18 |3-4pm Stanwix Stage

Pittsburgh, PA US

The Bonacossa-Eisenreich Duo presents eclectic programs of music ranging from classical to folk and experimental. The group performs original works, arrangements, and standard repertoire for flute, guitar, and electronics.

In addition to playing traditional repertoire, the duo enjoys exploring the interactions among the performers, instruments, music, and audience. They view their performances as collaborative art experiences that are participatory, multi-sensory, and thought-provoking.

The initial inspiration for their musical journey was their conception of In Silico for flute and live electronics, an original work in which the flute’s range and expressive power is expanded through the use of vocal effects and live computer processing.

The album produced four singles total including "Going Under" (#5 U.S. Modern Rock, #8 U.K.) and "Everybody's Fool" (#36 U.S. Modern Rock, #23 U.K.). Fallen is one of only eight albums in the history of the chart to spend at least a year on the Billboard Top 50, it spent 104 weeks on the Billboard 200 and is #32 on the “Greatest of All Time, Billboard 200." EVANESCENCE has won two GRAMMY Awards including “Best New Artist" and “Best Hard Rock Performance," out of a total of seven career nominations. Following multiple worldwide tours, EVANESCENCE released their first live album, Anywhere But Home, which sold more than one million copies worldwide. New World Symphony performance of "Auksalaq"

03.05.12 |7:00pm

Miami Beach, FL

“Auksalaq, the Inupiat word for “melting snow/ice", is a telematic work that explores global climate change from a northern geographic and cultural perspective. Using networked technology, videography, music, voice, visual arts and interviews, Auksalaq integrates artistic expression, scientific information and social/political commentary to create an interactive, multi-dimensional experience. The narrative incorporates fragmented and conflicting perspectives about the state of climate change as experienced in Alaska and the Arctic. These accounts, portrayed in the form of a scientific commentary and interviews with people of the region, are woven into a story about change in the far north. The music expresses interlocking environmental forces as eco-musical forms, expressing the profound changes in the ice-flows of Arctic waters. A new interactive audience-participation software called NOMADS enables engagement with the performance in real-time. Audience members are encouraged to attend the concert with their laptops or PDAs."
